Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
Postilla is a browser extension that lets you comment on any web page. By creating an account or using the extension, you agree to these terms. We've kept them short and readable on purpose.
Age requirement
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use Postilla. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement.
Acceptable use
Postilla is for genuine conversation. You agree not to use the service to:
- Spam — no unsolicited promotions, repetitive posts, or automated comment flooding.
- Harass — no targeted harassment, threats, hate speech, or content designed to intimidate or harm others.
- Post illegal content — no content that violates applicable law, including copyright infringement, defamation, or the distribution of illegal material.
- Impersonate — don't pretend to be another person or organization in a way that's misleading.
These aren't meant to be exhaustive rules — use your judgment. If something would get you kicked out of a polite dinner conversation, it probably doesn't belong here either.
Your content
You own your comments. You're responsible for what you post, and you retain all rights to it.
By posting a comment, you grant Postilla a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store and display that comment as part of the service — that is, to show it to other Postilla users who visit the same page. We don't claim ownership of your words and won't use your content for advertising or any other purpose.
Moderation
Postilla is community-moderated. Other users can flag comments they find problematic. Comments that receive enough flags are automatically hidden from view pending review.
We reserve the right to remove comments that violate these terms, and to do so without notice. If your content is removed and you believe it was a mistake, email us at [email protected].
Account termination
We may suspend or permanently terminate accounts that repeatedly or seriously violate these terms. We'll try to give a warning first when the situation warrants it, but we're not obligated to do so for serious violations.
If your account is terminated, you lose access to the service. Comments you posted may remain visible (without your username) or be removed, depending on the circumstances.
Disclaimer
Postilla is provided "as is" without any warranty, express or implied. We do our best to keep things running smoothly, but we can't guarantee the service will be available at all times, error-free, or free from security issues. Use it at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Postilla and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service. This includes loss of data, loss of profits, or any other damages, even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, for most users, is zero).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Postilla and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service or content you post.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service will be resolved in the courts of Tokyo, Japan.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll make a reasonable effort to let you know — for example, by posting a notice on the site.
Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you disagree with a change, your remedy is to stop using the service and delete your account.
